Joaquín López Hernández
Expert in Natural Resources and Environment
Joaquín López Hernández has extensive experience in the management and conservation of natural resources, particularly soils and waters. He is a technician in hydrology, irrigation, and drainage, and is trained in geographic information systems (GIS), including ArcGIS, as well as in the installation and maintenance of automatic weather stations.
He has worked as a consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and has collaborated with the Ministry of Environment and the Panama Canal Authority. His career includes roles such as Regional Director of INRENARE in Darién and Regional Head of the Water Resources Section in Coclé. Additionally, he has served as Technical Auditor for the Panamanian Pro Carbon Association (APPROCARBONO).
Joaquín has conducted over 400 hydrological studies across the Republic of Panama. His expertise spans from conducting environmental impact studies to providing training in watershed conservation. He has advised well-known companies such as the Panama Bay Sanitation Program, Productos Toledano, Azucarera Nacional, and Petrolera Nacional, among others.
